John James (known to his friends as JJ) is a London
born and London based painter. He's best known for his large urban
landscapes - although an exhibition entitled "Small Paintings" in
London last year - featuring smaller, more affordable work - was
a great success. Many of his larger works were shown in summer'99
in Manhattan - where he exhibits regularly. Paradoxically his views
of New York sell best in London and vice versa! But the city streets
of Harlem and Harlesden are not his only love: you'll also see wonderful
pictures inspired by visits to India, Russia, and the Northumbrian
countryside. |
